The Fitness Center includes a circuit workout as well as great cardiovascular and strength equipment, a warm-up area, and a stretching and abdominal work area. Although the Fitness Center accommodates the workout needs for the physically active, a primary focus of the center is to target first time exercisers who want to improve their health. Basic fitness testing is performed on an individual basis which measures blood pressure, body composition, aerobic capacity, muscular endurance and flexibility. This information is used to help design individual exercise programs. In addition, the fitness center accommodates people with disabilities by providing specially designed machines that fit wheelchairs.
Each person using the fitness center pays either a quarterly or yearly fee. The money generated with this fee is used to maintain current equipment and for the purchase of new strength and cardiovascular machines.
If a community member (18 and over) wants to use the fitness center/weight room they can do so by registering for a continuing education class.
Both campuses offer this class, SCC continuing education location is in building 16, room 132A, you can register and pay at that office. At SFCC it is through admissions and you pay at the cashiers office.
