Spokane Earns Sweep at Treasure Valley

Spokane travelled to Ontario, Oregon and took two game from TVCC on Saturday afternoon. Spokane won the first game 4-3. Spokane scored all four runs after the seventh inning. Freshman Justin Murphy threw seven shutout innings in his first start of the season. Murphy didn’t allow a hit until the fifth inning. Mike Richard threw the ninth to earn his first save of the season. Spokane had nine hits in the game. Ian Atkinson and Jake Graham led the way with two hits apiece.

Spokane won the second game 8-5. Starting Pitcher Cam Christian allowed one run in seven innings of work to earn his fourth win of the season. Gary French induced a pop fly in the eighth inning with the tying run on second base. Martin Aguirre finished the game to earn his first save of the season. Spokane pounded out 15 hits in the game. Taylor King, Ian Atkinson, and Derek Carley all had three hits in the game for Spokane. Taylor King hit his first homerun of the season in the ninth inning to extend the lead for the Sasquatch. Cam Christian and Kevin Lathim added two hits apiece in the game.

Spokane plays at home on Wednesday afternoon against Wenatchee Valley. First pitch is set for 1pm. Spokane will continue a four game home stand on Saturday afternoon. The Sasquatch will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the NWAACC Championship Team in 1989.
