Spokane split an Eastern Region double header at YVCC. Spokane won the first game 8-7. Justin Murphy earned the win for Spokane. Mike Richard earned his second save of the season by throwing a scoreless ninth. Spokane had ten hits in the game led by Colby Crawford and Kelly Gau with two hits apiece. Freshman Jake Graham added a two run double in the first inning.

Spokane lost the second game 6-2. Yakima pulled away in the fifth inning with four runs in the frame. Spokane had 11 hits in the game. Cam Christian and Derek Carley had three hits apiece in the game. One of Christian’s hits was a run scoring double in the fourth inning.

The Eastern Region playoff race will be settled this week. Five teams are vying for the final two playoff berth.  Spokane is tied with three teams that are one game out of the playoff picture. Spokane plays Walla Walla on Wednesday afternoon at home. First pitch is set for 1 pm. Spokane will celebrate the six sophomores who will be playing their final home games.
