Spokane Splits With Big Bend
Justin Murphy threw a complete game shutout in the first game against Big Bend. Murphy had four strikeouts in the game and scattered five hits. Spokane scored all three runs in the second inning. Scott Carr had the big blow with a two run double in the frame. Carr and Ian Atkinson had two hits in the game to lead the way for Spokane.
Spokane struggled in the second game losing 16-4. Spokane had ten hits in the game led by Taylor King with three hits. Derek Carley and Chad Morrison added two hits each for the Sasquatch Big Bend pounded out 11 hits. The Spokane defense committed three errors while the pitching staff allowed six free passes.
Spokane travels to Blue Mountain Community College on Wednesday afternoon. Spokane is in a four way tie for the fourth and final playoff spot. With two weeks to play two games separate second and eighth place in the wild eastern region.
