Lex is in his second season with the CCS track program and brings with him vast knowledge and notable success.  In his first year as the CCS pole vault coach he had a woman break the school record with a 11'11.75" jump. He was a high school state champion in the pole vault, and is a 2000 Washington State University graduate with a degree in sport management.  While at WSU, Lex was also a varsity athlete on the Cougar track team where his successes included two-times indoor Mountain Pacific qualifier and three-time Pac 10 qualifier, while posting a personal best of 5.15m/16'10 ¾".  The past two years Lex coached at North Central High School, where in 2005 he coached the female Greater Spokane League record holder Kendal Mays to a personal record of 12', and had two other female vaulters over 11'.  Aside from coaching at the Community Colleges of Spokane and North Central, Lex also runs sport camps and clinics for kids all over the region, and is the founder and coach of the Greater Spokane Track Club, Spokane’s most rapidly growing USATF track club in the area.
