In his fifth year at Spokane, Coach McLachlan brings significant experience to the program. He has coached over thirty-four cross country All-Americans in his four years of coaching.
Sean graduated from West Valley High School of Spokane in 1999. He enrolled at CCS where he earned a total of three All-American awards, one in cross country and two in the 3000 steeplechase. After graduating from Spokane in 2001, Sean transferred to Southern Utah University where he is completing his B.A. in physical education. While at SUU, he improved his steeplechase best to 9:10. He was MID-CON All-Conference in cross country and the 2004 Indoor Champion in the 5000 meters as well as the 3000 meter runner-up. His personal bests are 1:55 in the 800, 4:22 in the 1600, 9:30 in the 3200, and 9:10 in the 3000 steeplechase.
Sean lives in Spokane with his wife Rachel and daughter Mae.
