Sophomores Lead as Sasquatch Keep Playoff Hopes Alive

In their final home game the Sasquatch Sophomores led the way in a sweep of Walla Walla CC.  Spokane won the first game in their last at bat. Spokane struggled offensively in the first game against Walla Walla Starter Richie Carmichael. Carmichael took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before sophomore pinch hitter Aaron LaPlante hit a ground ball through the infield.  Spokane scored two runs in the ninth inning aided by a dropped fly ball by the center fielder. Freshman Scott Carr drove in the winning run on a sac fly to centerfield in the final frame. Starter Martin Aguirre went the distance to earn his fourth win of the season.

Spokane scored nine runs in the seventh and eighth innings to win game two 10-5. Sophomore starting pitcher went five innings allowing three runs. Fellow sophomores Colby Crawford and Rex Ireland threw in relief. Ireland earned his third win of the season. Spokane had ten hits in the game. Kelly Gau, Cam Christian, Jake Graham and Taylor King all had two hits in the game for the Sasquatch.  Cam Christian had a triple while Gau and Derek Carley added doubles.

Spokane travels to Columbia Basin to wrap up the regular season on Saturday afternoon.
