Spokane Swept in Wenatchee
Spokane was swept in the Eastern Region opening doubleheader at Wenatchee Valley CC. Spokane lost the first game 3-1 despite a tremendous performance out of Mike Richard. Richard went the distance allowing the three runs. Richard tallied 11 strikeouts in the game with one walk. The knockout blow came from a two run triple in the eighth inning. Spokane scored one run on six hits. Taylor King and Kelly Gau led the way with two hits apiece.
Spokane lost the second game 13-5. Wenatchee scored 10 runs in the third inning to pull away from Spokane. Spokane’s offense totaled nine hits and was led by Freshman Jake Graham with three. Sophomores Ian Atkinson and Mark Purser each added two hits for the Sasquatch.
Spokane (9-4, 0-2) will play their home opener on Sunday against Treasure Valley CC at noon.
